Dear Editor,
Mr. (Leo) Sears must be a California Correctional Police Officers Association member or a state employee. The Three Strikes law has not saved taxpayers billions but it has cost them billions.
The law needs to be rewritten and Proposition 66 is the correct way. I believe if the Three Strikes were applied the way they were intended, it would work fine.
When a judge or prosecutor can decide whether the Three Strikes law applies or not, is wrong.
I am a retired correctional sergeant and I know there are a lot of men in prison who do not belong there for 25 to life.
